Secondary schools should place a greater emphasis on comprehensive career guidance and counseling to help students make informed decisions about their future paths. Reflecting on my own secondary school experience, it's clear that during those years, the prevailing perception was that only careers like Medicine and Law were worthy pursuits, while everything else appeared mediocre. This perception was partly shaped by the expectations of parents who often imposed their own dreams on their children. However, secondary schools can play a pivotal role in reshaping these perceptions and guiding students towards a broader array of career options. Had I been exposed to a wider range of career choices, such as Ecology or Industrial Design, during my secondary school days, I might have eagerly pursued these fields instead of reluctantly pursuing Medicine, which I didn't have a passion for.
